"NOAA Weather Radio station WXK34 is the voice of the National Weather Service, broadcasting 24 hours a day on a frequency of 162.400 megahertz, from the National Weather Service office in Corpus Christi, Texas. The antenna facilities are located 6 and 1/2 miles off Highway 59 south on Mission Valley Road. Station WXK34 provides the latest public and marine forecasts and observations. The local weather observations are updated hourly. Tests of the NOAA Weather Radio weather alarm device for the WXK34 listening area are normally conducted on Wednesdays between 11 AM and noon. During periods of severe weather warnings and statements will replace normal programming. The following counties will be alarmed: DeWitt, Lavaca, Goliad, Victoria, Jackson and Calhoun."
