This broadcast originates from the National Weather Service in Jackson, Mississippi, and serves portions of central and southeast Mississippi from a broadcast tower in Magee, Mississippi. WZ2546 provides the latest forecasts and warning information. Weather forecast information is broadcast 24 hours a day, with regional observations updated hourly. Local and area climate information can usually be heard from 5:30 to 10:30 AM, and from 4:30 to 9:30 PM daily. The Mississippi River stage and 5-day forecast, for selected locations along the river, are normally available between 10 AM and 1 PM daily. Information concerning hazardous weather conditions will always replace routine programming, and will be broadcast as conditions warrant. A test of the NOAA Weather Radio warning alarm device is normally conducted each Wednesday between 11 AM and noon, unless there is a risk of hazardous weather. Along with additional weather information, you may send comments or questions to our office by visiting our website at weather.gov, then click on central Mississippi.
