"Donna" - Brief weather weather map
features/synopsis followed by a weather radio
service area forecast. This is a forecast a
meteorologist must compose which applies to all
the zones served by this station.
A few of the newer weather radio stations
programmed by the Greenville-Spartanburg office,
simply air the zone forecast which automatically
goes on the air when issued. These newer stations
serve fewer counties and this practice is
sufficient.
Other routine programming on WXL-56:
Daily climate report for the Asheville Airport,
either in "Craig's" voice or a human
meteorologist's voice. This runs from about
5p-Mid.
The "Mountain and Foothills" report runs from
10am-Noon in "Paul's" voice. This is the past
24-hour's high/low/precip from cooperative or
automated observers for 15 area locations. Values
are through 7am.
"Monthly Climate Summary" for the Asheville
Airport runs through the day during the first 3-5
days of each month. Human voice usually gives
this report.
